1-Day Workshop - Join the Fun with Clasped WARP and WEFT

Clasped weft is a clever technique that enables the weaver to maintain two separate colors in a weft pick without using tapestry techniques. It can be used in a defined and planned manner or free-form as you weave. Imagine having that same freedom of color change in your warp!! We’ll do both in this class, warping our rigid heddle looms in the morning and weaving in the afternoon, sampling several different clasped weft ideas. Wool yarn in a variety of colors is provided.

Students bring:

1. Rigid heddle loom at least 8” wide with a 5 or 6 and/or 8 dpi heddle. Bring both if you want to choose sport or fingering yarn after seeing samples in class.
2. Loom stand OR clamp to hold loom to table while warping
3. Warping tools: peg and clamp for direct warping, hook, paper to pack warp (85”)
4. 2-3 stick shuttles, scissors, tape measure

Experience level: Must have warped and woven on a rigid heddle loom at least once.
