We offer a variety of small, in-person weaving classes. If you see a class that you would like to take but it is not
scheduled or at a time that you can’t come please email Robin to schedule a class.
I started to offer virtual classes in 2021, but it seems difficult to offer the kind of class I like to present.
The exception is our Wednesday Weavers—Zoom is great for that! And we throw in a few in-person activities as well.

Clasped weft is a clever technique that enables the weaver to maintain two separate colors in a weft pick without using tapestry techniques. It can be used in a defined and planned manner or free-form as you weave. Imagine having that same freedom of color change in your warp!! We’ll do both in this class, warping our rigid heddle looms in the morning and weaving in the afternoon, sampling several different clasped weft ideas. Wool yarn in a variety of colors is provided.
Students bring:
1. Rigid heddle loom at least 8” wide with a 5 or 6 and/or 8 dpi heddle. Bring both if you want to choose sport or fingering yarn after seeing samples in class.
2. Loom stand OR clamp to hold loom to table while warping
3. Warping tools: peg and clamp for direct warping, hook, paper to pack warp (85”)
4. 2-3 stick shuttles, scissors, tape measure
Experience level: Must have warped and woven on a rigid heddle loom at least once.
Next class scheduled:
TBA
Contact Robin to schedule a different class or a guild workshop.
Reference: Project and article in Little Looms, 2022 and Little looms, Summer 2025.
The class time will not allow finishing the scarf but weaving should be well under way for you to finish at home.
Students should bring:
Rigid heddle loom with or without stand, 5-6 dpi heddle (sport weight yarn) or 8 dpi heddle (fingering yarn), warping peg, stick shuttle, and paper for winding OR reserve one of my looms to rent ($25 for two weeks)
Scissors
Tape measure
This technique can be used on a 4-shaft floor or table loom, but that would be a different class. Contact me about that.
