The Farm Club, created in 2009, is an integral part of Meridian Jacobs Farm. Farm Club members support our farm by purchasing memberships, helping with seasonal tasks and at farm events, and with their commitment to our farm and sheep. Members have hands-on learning opportunities at the farm throughout the year and get a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operation of the farm and fiber shop by receiving Farm Journal e-mails. Sometimes these are brief but other times they are in depth about topics that range from lambing issues to weed control to spinning the best yarn for a blanket. Lambing Journals are e-mailed daily through lambing season. Even people who do not live close to the farm have joined and are a welcome part of our on-line community. Fiber Members receive fleece or roving in addition to items listed below. Those who were members for 2025 will get their fleeces on Shearing Day, January 24, 2026. If you sign up for the first time as a 2026 member you will get your fleece at the next shearing (January or February, 2027). If you want roving instead of a fleece you can take it any time it is available.
Our "Fleece Year" starts in February and Shearing Day is when we harvest our crop. You are welcome to join Farm Club at any time during the year, but if you join as a Fiber member six months or less before shearing (August through January) you are an active member and can participate in all the activities, but "harvest" your fleece the following year. For instance, join from August, 2025 through January, 2026 and harvest your fleece at the 2027 Shearing Day. You are welcome to purchase a fleece in 2026, but your membership fleece will come in 2027 after a year of FC membership. There may be a limit on the number of Fiber/Fleece memberships offered. Fiber members may choose 1 pound of roving instead of fleece at any time during the year. My goal is to welcome new members at any time but to get everyone synchronized to the Fleece Year for membership renewal.
