More Lambs Again

I’m on a roll…sorting and labeling photos. I’d better take advantage of it so here’s one more post.

Lamb 2305 is one of Sandie’s from the first lambing post.

The sheep transition from the lambing pens into a stall with two or three ewes and their lambs. I usually use two stalls but I called the third into use because I have so many lambs now. I ran out of feeders so I put hay in the black tub. That won’t work if the lambs are going to sleep in it so I got a tub with higher sides to use for the hay.

That didn’t work either.

I saw on my barn camera that Janna had lambed in back of the barn. By the time I got out there they were up and nursing. Meridian Janna x Hillside Gabby’s Barrett. #2327 and #2328.

This is Bide a wee Trista, another of our favorite sheep. In this photo she could be called Wide Load.

I took lots of photos and videos of some of the sheep lambing. I need time to edit the videos and condense the whole lambing sequence into 3 to 5 minutes. So most of my lambing pictures will be on YouTube when I get time to do that. I’m sharing a few photos of Trista lambing here. This first photo was at 5:30 a.m.

The lamb was out at 5:40.

At 6:00 it’s trying to find something to eat.

At 6:40 the second lamb was nursing. Amazing, isn’t it?

This is how I've been dressed since lambing started. Wool hat. Wool dickie made by a friend. Wool sweater made by another friend. I do vary the wardrobe by switching from this sweater made by Stephany to the other sweater made by Kathleen…all Jacob, and life savers this winter. Alison made the dickie and it is wonderful to have a warm neck. I knit the hat years ago—maybe my last knitting.
