Solano Blend Yarn

15.00

Solano Blend is a unique 2-ply yarn that is 100% Solano County grown, a blend of soft wool from three sheep ranches. One ply is white wool from the Timm Ranch north of Vacaville. One ply is gray wool that is a blend of  Anderson Ranch wool and my own Jacob wool. The Jacob wool provides the natural color and together these fibers make a light gray tweed. The white wool is from fine wool sheep with Rambouillet, Targhee, and Corriedale heritage.

Each 2-ounce skein is approximately 211 yards (1692 yards/pound). That puts it at a heavy fingering or light sport-weight yarn depending on the chart you use.  This yarn is great for weaving as well as knit and crochet projects. Yarn is so new that I don't have knitting and weaving specs yet. That info will be added soon. My samples so far: Size 5 needles, Warp sett at 8 epi.
