What is a Farm Day?
This is an opportunity to spend the day with us on the farm, mingle with the animals, share the chores, learn new skills, and enjoy the fresh air!
Farm Days are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come at 9 if you want to help with farm work (or watch us work). Learn about whatever task is at hand. Come at 11:30 to relax, spin, chat,go for a pasture walk, etc. You are welcome to bring wheels, knitting, etc. Enjoy our farm as much as we do!
Saturday, March 20, 2010 There will be lambs everywhere! Chores may include vaccinating lambs, feeding and watering new moms and babies, cleaning pens, and setting up portable pasture fencing. Goats will have just kidded so we'll be feeding kids too.
Saturday, July 10, 2010 (tentative) Work might include helping to sort and vaccinate growing lambs and ewes, trimming hooves, checking eartags, cleaning barn, hoeing pasture weeds, and monitoring pasture transect locations.
Saturday, November 6, 2010 (tentative) Get ready for shearing--organize barn, help trim feet, prune trees etc.
Memberships are limited to 10 of each type.
Sign up now to participate in the next Farm Day!
